How Our Cards Are Printed and Finished

We’re often asked what sets our cards apart from the run-of-the-mill ones you’ll find stacked by the dozen in supermarkets. Truth is, it’s all in the detail — the way they’re printed, trimmed, and finished. It’s a bit like comparing a well-poured pint to something half-flat from a can.

The print process

We start by working with local Scottish artists whose work demands to be shown off properly. That means using high-resolution scans and professional colour calibration to keep every brushstroke or pencil line true. Then we print using premium digital presses that catch subtle hues — no washed-out pinks pretending to be reds.

Paper matters (more than folk think)

Our cards are printed on thick, sustainably sourced stock that feels solid in your hand. It’s the kind of card you instinctively run your fingers over. The surface is lightly coated to protect the artwork but leaves a soft finish perfect for writing your own message.

Finishing touches

Each card is precisely trimmed, scored so it folds cleanly, and paired with a quality envelope. We even fuss over the packaging — cards arrive with you crisp, unbent, and ready to make someone’s day.

So next time you wonder why a card costs a bit more from a small business, it’s because we’re not cutting corners. Quite the opposite — we’re obsessing over them. Have a look through our Greeting Card Collection to see the difference for yourself.
